A New Cloud Feature Available on gps4cam Pro

Youness B March 29, 2014 2 Comments 25448

Since gps4cam pro 7.3, a new cloud feature has been added to gps4cam pro. This new feature allows all gps4cam pro users to link their app with their gps4cam cloud account so all trips can be stored on a secure cloud. No more worries about losing data when losing the phone or when getting a new one. All a user needs to do is to log into his gps4cam cloud account so the app can retrieve all his trips. This cloud capability also lets users generate only one QRcode to photograph, no matter how long the trip was or the number of pictures a user has taken.

How does it work?

  1. Create your gps4cam cloud account whether with your email or by logging in using Facebook (in gps4cam preferences)
  2. Once you have linked your app with your gps4cam cloud account a popup will ask you if you want to store all your trips on the cloud. If you accept, all your trips will be transferred to the cloud, and thus you cannot access them if you log out.
  3. You can now record your trips as usual. All the data will be stored in the cloud, and when you don’t have internet, it will be stored locally until you have internet again, and gps4cam pro will store the data on the cloud

In a nutshell, this new cloud features allows gps4cam users to always have a safe backup of theirs trips on the cloud and generate a single QRCode  no matter how long the trip was (Please note that if you want to export a single QRCode, this latter has to be generated once you have access to the internet. Otherwise you could get several QRCodes to photograph if your trip is too long).

Tip & use case: If several people (let’s say 5 people) go on a trip and they all have digital cameras. No need for all of them to use gps4cam pro to record locations. All they have to do is to create a gps4cam cloud account (requires an email address) and only one of them can record. The trip will appear in everybody’s iPhone at the end and everyone will be able to geotag the photos he has been taking with its own digital camera. This is very useful especially in long trips. To save battery, every person can record during 2 days for example and a second person can record during another 2 days.

Let us know what you think of this new feature. Your feedback will help us improve the gps4cam experience.

How can I import the g4m1 database backup? I only managed to export it to Dropbox but the Dropbox App does not offer gps4cam pro as a choice to open the file. Same with the Mail App when I mailed the file. I use iOS 7.1.2.

    Hi there,

When will this feature be available for Android users (or is it already available and I am just being thick)?

Also I have just changed handset, I backed up everything on the old handset to a hard drive, is there a folder or a file I can move to take my trips to the new phone?

Also I just want to say what a great app gps4cam is!

    Regards,

    Ed
