Many LightRoom users use GPX files to geotag their photos. gps4cam pro allows you to export your trips as QRcodes, GPX files or both depending on the workflow you are using.
The advantage with the QRCode and gps4cam desktop is that you don’t need to manually sync your iPhone’s time with you camera’s time. gps4cam pro takes care of that and also handles time zone changes, but some of our users import directly their photos to LightRoom and want to directly geotag their photos in LightRoom. There has always been a solution for that (by emailing the GPX file of your trip) and using it in LightRoom. It is even easier and better now with gps4cam pro integration with Dropbox.
How does it work?
- You link your gps4cam pro app with your Dropbox account (in gps4cam preferences)
- You use gps4cam pro as usual and you shoot photos during your trip
- Once you are done shooting, hit the share button (top right of the screen when you are on the map view of your trip on gps4cam pro) and then “Send GPX to Dropbox”. This will send the GPX to your Dropbox.
- You can import your photos directly to LightRoom
- You can geotag your photos in LightRoom by retrieving your GPX file from your local Dropbox folder on your computer or at www.dropbox.com
PS: Please note that unlike using gps4cam desktop that doesn’t require any manual syncing, you better sync your iPhone’s time with your camera’s time before you start your trip so LightRoom can properly geotag your photos

It is all great news about your products and your partners but I would really like a page on how the damn thing works. Have you got instructions on the Pro so I can read it much easier that my IPhone.
Thanks,
Jim B
More of a question. where are the instructions for using the gpx file directly in Lightroom?
Hi there,
This video should be of help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqvO26RWVKg
I use Lightroom 5. It seems when the gpx file is sent to dropbox, it doesn’t sync with my dropbox on my computer. the cause of this is how gps4cam is naming the file. How can i get gps4cam to allow me to change the name of the gpx files automatically. i would like the file name to not include “-” or any other symbols. Once i manually take out the symbols, my desktop dropbox is able to read the file.
Can someone assist? If not, can someone update the app so that it gives the user the option on how to name the gpx files (without dashes, periods, etc)
Hi, I use gps4.cam pro and with sometimes when I email my gpx file, it doesn’t come across. Can you help me.?
